Wishful Dreams
I dream of June when I lie in bed alone,
When the world is quiet and my mind can roam.
A June that sends winter away to hide,
And that makes mothers blossom inside.
A June that allows children to learn to ride,
And June that calls fathers to stand with pride.
A June that sees sons taking their brides,
And that touches hearts across the endless divides.
A June that heals the wounds of love denied,
And that brings light where darkness abides.
I’ve dreamed of a June that will take away my fright,
It may come tomorrow if it doesn’t come tonight.
