Let’s Dance

I’ve danced beneath the moon on a clear blue night,

when the stars where out and not a cloud in sight.

I’ve danced with a woman so fair she would shine,

and had thoughts of her one day being mine.

I’ve danced so slow that we almost stood still,

and remember thinking our love would build.

I’ve danced and prayed if my life were to end,

it would come like that, with us hand in hand.

I’ve danced every dance over and over in my mind,

enjoying the moment that was eternally mine.

I’ve danced to music that rang out like chimes,

and music as simple as nursery rhymes.

I’ve danced with my heart filled with passion and desire,

on the legs of my youth that could never tire.

I’ve danced away and felt all alone

until at last I danced back to your arms.

I’ve danced with pretty women, I can’t count how many,

but no other dancer made me feel so charming and witty.

I’ve danced away from asking you time and time again,

I was always afraid of loosing a friend.

I’ve danced and gathered my courage now,

but I’m unsure of the words or how.

I’ve danced and now I’ve asked you to please

make this dance last an eternity.

I’m dancing now and will be still,

when our hearts are joined with wedding bells.

One more time, one spin on the floor,

let’s dance tonight and forever more.
